Dear teachers,

Would you please tell me which of my answers you would rule out ?

1) There’s no point in phoning him this afternoon. He WILL BE WORKING in his garden, and he WILL not HEAR the phone.

2) Don’t forget your umbrella. You never know, it a) MAY / b) MIGHT / c) COULD rain.

3) A- I hope we will not disturb Pat when we drop in tonight.
B- Don’t worry. She WON’T BE WORKING. She told me yesterday she never works in the evening.

4) It’s a crazy idea but it a) MAY / b) MIGHT / c) COULD work.

5) A- I’ve invited Jane to the party on Saturday.
B- She WON’T COME. She hates parties.

6) A- I’ve bought ten kilos of cheese for the party.
B- That’s rather a lot, isn’t it ? They a) MAY / b) MIGHT not like cheese.

7) A- Why haven’t you gone to the airport ? I thought you were going to Rome.
B- I’m sure the plane WILL BE DELAYED. The weather is too bad.

8) Be careful with the dog. She turns a bit nasty sometimes, and a) MAY / b) MIGHT c) COULD bite you.

9) I don’t know why I bother with my girlfriend. I know exactly what WILL happen tonight. I WILL go round to her house to pick her up, she a) WILL have / b) WILL BE HAVING a bath or c) WILL do / d) WILL BE DOING her hair as she always is, and I WILL have to wait three hours for her to get ready.

10) I have nothing to wear for this party. All I’ve got is this old black dress and Suzy a) WILL BE WEARING / b) WILL WEAR (?) something spectacular, as usual.

Thank you and all the best,
Hela

Except for 9 and 10, I'd say all are perfectly correct. I have nothing to add.

9) I don’t know why I bother with my girlfriend. I know exactly what WILL happen tonight. I WILL go round to her house to pick her up, she not a) WILL have / b) WILL BE HAVING a bath or not c) WILL do / d) WILL BE DOING her hair as she always This word is the clue: is, and I WILL have to wait three hours for her to get ready. ["will have" and "will do" would go with "as she always does"; "will be having" and "will be doing" go with "as she always is"]

10) I have nothing to wear for this party. All I’ve got is this old black dress and Suzy better a) WILL BE WEARING / not quite as good b) WILL WEAR (?) something spectacular, as usual.
