Hi guys, the following sentence seems a bit of a mouthful..:

"These are the problems that the school of Electronic, Communication and Electrical Engineering (ECEE) are faced with when setting up their conferences, where too much time is wasted liaising with the web developer"

Can anyone tell me if I need to put a semi-colon before "where", near the end.

Feel free to optimise the sentence at yout will.

Thank you guys so much, as always!

A semi-colon would be incorrect there. It's just too long to be managable, and it's not clear where it's going.

Shouldn't the entire thing end with a colon, since you are about to list the problems? Or is the wasting time the source of the problems?

I don't understand how wasting time with the Web developer is related to setting up their conferences, though.

The school of Electronic, Communication and Electrical Engineering (ECEE) faced some problems when setting up their conferences. One of the problems was wasting too much time establishing a relationship with the Web developer... Or These problems were directly linked to spending too much time with the Web developer and not enough time... dooing what?

Basically its time wasting to have communicate with a web developer to setup a conference... I built a program with a user-friendly, form-driven interface that means it totally cuts out the web developer from the equation, thus saving time. There is a significant time saved as well, especially when you consider all the updates that used to have to through the web developer every time.. Now anyone from any background, technical or not can build and manage their conference websites.

So in the sentence before the one i posted, it explains this. The sentence I posted just reiterates that with the example of the "ECEE" school in mind.

What you think?
Before this tool was availble, the school of Electronic, Communication and Electrical Engineering (ECEE) had to spend too much time working with the Web developer to set up their conferernce Web site. Now, this problem is eliminated - they can ...

The problem faced by the school of Electronic, Communication and Electrical Engineering (ECEE) was the time required to work with the Web developer to set up their conference site.
