AlpheccaStars6 - incorrect capitalization.

It's a line from a poem and appears this way on the exercise.

8) This being human is a guest house. metaphor

9) The weed before me was dying or dead. personification

10) Ten thousand saw I at a glance, imagery

These are all taken form some poems.

( 8) is a metaphor.

I don't think ( 9) is personification. Dying is natural for plants and weeds. Personification is when you attribute human characteristics to something that does not have them. For example:

The weed before me smiled as it died.

Then it must be imagery?

Students: Are you brave enough to let our tutors analyse your pronunciation?
sundarnazThen it must be imagery?

By the process of elimination, that is all that is left.

You did the right job.
Actually, I was searching for these line to specify their figures of speech.

Thank you

Emotion: hmm It's no wonder students hate poetry.

Teachers can be depended upon to reduce everything to labels when they really have no idea what they're talking about.
