I'm thinking generally. Food cooked at home is scrumptious. Unless the cook is a chef and the house is a mansion, then.'sumptuous', IMO, could be used. I think most people will serve scrumptious food to friends.

If a host invites guests to a grand restaurant, then the food served could be described as 'sumptuous' and they dine in sumptuous surroundings.
Hi,

In my experience, 'delicious' is much more commonly used than the word 'scrumptious'.
We also often use other phrases, eg we say that things '. . . taste great . . . '

"a meal that is consisted of many foods" ?

shouldn't we use "a meal that consisted of many foods" ?
Hi,

And I have prepared a sumptuous meal that is consisted of many foods like spaghetti, meatball, pizza, fried chicken, etc.

Yes, 'is consisted' is incorrect. However, the 'present time' focus of what is being said indicates the best tense is Simple Present.
The meal hasn't been eaten yet, so it is still '. . . a sumptuous meal that consists of . . . '

Best wishes, Clive

Should it be 'food' or 'foods'?

Hi,

"Food' in the singular would be the common choice.

I haven't done any research, but I would think that the word 'food' is much, much more commonly used than the word 'foods'.

Thanks, Clive. I agree with you.
Hi
That shows me very simple and understood well about food. I have not seen foods in sentences very much.

Thank you.

Hi,

I don't understand why the phrase 'is consisted' is wrong in this context. Why does it have to be 'consists'? Is that a pasive versue active issue?

I have some food in front of me that consists (is consisted) of cuisine from different countries.

Another example:

I looked around but could not find any food that consisted (was consisted??) of low-sugar content.
