"For that matter". Used in a negative situation, usually. For emphasis. I can't come up with another phrase to help you understand. Perhaps these examples will help.

I have trouble remembering my friend's birthday. I have trouble remembering my wife's, for that matter.

I don't like most of her cooking. I don't like any of it, for that matter.

She has trouble getting up by 7:00 a.m. She has trouble getting up by 8:00, for that matter.

You could use "in fact" or "what's more" in similar situations. It's used to mean "in a similar way, but even more so."

Let's include even more in the discussion than I originally brought up. for that matter always occurs in the context of a parenthetical remark, whether it is punctuated with parentheses or not.
