Dear Mr. Michael X:

The purpose of this letter is to retrieve information on your country. I’m doing research for my Honors International Studies class and I’m studying your country. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Information on what type of government you run and pass historic events that have taken place in your country. Also information about the terrain in your country and the lifestyle. I’m basically looking for any type of information that your government could dispense.

Now this is were im stuck im not sure watelse to ask for and it needs to be a page long. If anyone could give me a few tips as to wat else to add and if im doing a good job would be very much apperciated

Thanks in advance!!
Jay
Hi Snowboarder.

Please how to write a formal letter!!.

There must be a class assignment?

If I were Michael X at the Embassy and I received a letter from a student taking an Honors International Studies class asking me where on the map Australia is located, I would simply toss your letter in the waste basket and not give it another thought. Grade F.

Although you didn't ask where Australia is located, your questions/requests are almost as poor. Your letter to me says, "I am too lazy to do my own research, so can you please stop what you are doing and do my research for me."

Snowboarder, I think you need to do some research on Australia. Think of a unique aspect about it. Find out as much as you can. And then ask the Embassy for some help.

Show that you have done some research. Comment on some developments, and then ask a couple challenging questions.

Hope that helps.

Dear Sir or Madame,
I am writing to ask for more information in connection with your organization of W.W.F.I am not a member of these organization but I would like to know more about how I can help.
I would be grateful if you could tell me what kind of work is involved and whether I would need any special qualification. Also, how old do members need to be?I am fifteen years old and I live in Bacau,Romania.I do not have much experience of environmental work but I
like going for walks and I love very much the animals.I would also like to know where the work will take place.I would like to work in my own area if possible.
Finally, could you tell me when the work would be as I prefer summer work.I go to school but i have a lot of time in the holidays.
If there is anything else I need to know please let me know.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Yours faithfully,
