It started with Don Groves criticizing Raymond's spelling;

Punctuation, not spelling. And I have since retracted and apologized.

You're right. Now, did I have punctuation in mind and yet wrote "spelling"? No, what I had in mind was a concept "spelling and punctuation", but there doesn't seem to be one word for that.

Aha. here the Ayn Rand Institute discusses her name, and shows that "Rosenbaum" in the Cyrillic script alphabet somewhat resembles "rand ayn". I like that.

Yes, a nice explanation.
But, as Ray says, that's a very strange Cyrillic R. Also, it looks as though the M has been doctored to appear more N-like.

Ray's comment about the randomness of the dropped letters is, I think, less important. Such private games needn't be logical.

All the same, the E is more obviously an English E than the Z is an English A, so why not Rend (or Pend)?

The problem is when person B attempts to prove that person A intended such and such a meaning. If you get to drop information, or alternatively, get to pick what information to use, you can "prove" many things which are mere fantasies. Consider the so-called "Bible Code."
Many years ago I wrote a "proof of God" based upon a string of the digits in pi which I found in a Life Library book on mathematics. I sent a copy to Martin Gardner, and he suggested I send it to *The Worm Runner's Digest,* whose editor rejected it on the basis that it was "too mathematical" for his readership. The "proof" would not have existed if I had not been able to pick and choose items from the raw data.

If you are at a loose end, you can spend many a happy hour in alt.sci.relativistic-proof-of-god.moderated and its related web sites, trying to find any sign of the actual proof in between all the pseudo scientific mumbo-jumbo and reference to "peer reviewed journals". Although you have to admire the sheer unremitting effort involved, day after day, to keep spouting this stuff. And the unwavering belief that the only possible reason for continued wars, poverty, criminal behaviour and other religions is that the people haven't heard about this proof.

=SCIENTIFIC EXPLANATION OF GOD=
God is an Einstein Curvature G uv of
"subjectively seen" reality, caused by
the (universal, 15%) Secular Trend brain
growth deficit in the human population.
Hence we have the celebrated
equation "GOD=G uv".
In the summer of 1997 Hammond actually discovered the scientific proof of God. It turns out that just as the 4-Axis space-time metric has "curvature" and causes Gravity (Einstein 1916), likewise the 4- Axis Psychometry metric has curvature which produces a single, lone, higher order factor- the "last structural factor" of Psychology. This factor is easily identified as God=3F the God of world religion. Therefore, what Hammond discovered is that Einsteinian Gravity actually causes God.
It's that "easily" which gets me going.
