Hi

I'd like to clarify some things from the passage below:

Here goes: This is my opinion: we all start out knowing magic. We are born with whirlwinds, forest fires, and comets inside us. ... But then we get the magic educated right out of our souls. We get it churched out, spanked out, washed out, and combed out.

1. I understand it says that at the beginning of our lives we all know magic (start out knowing magic)?

2. Does it mean that we are born with whirlwinds and forest fires inside us, or that we're born together with them?

3. Now the ways we get the magic removed out of us. The church does that, our parents by beating us do that (spanked out), washed out - I think it's pretty clear, and "combed out" - hmm, maybe it just means that it is "isolated" from us?

cheers

1.Yes
2. We are born with whirlwinds and forest fires inside us... but they are metaphorical.

3. The church does that, our parents by beating us do that (spanked out)-- Spanking is not as violent as beating, but yes.
washed out - I think it's pretty clear, and "combed out" -- 'Combed out' is the same as 'washed out'.
