Hi, do these sentences sound natural to you?

  1. I got scolded by my boss at work.
  2. I got told off by my boss at work.
  3. I got yelled at by my boss at work.
  4. I got reprimanded by my boss at work.

A friend of mine (non-native speaker) told me that the verb 'scold' is only used when parents tell off children. Is that true?

Also, how are these sentences different in meaning?

Pretty much true.

The last sentence is the most proper for a work situation.
