- I am willing to meet your needs on this (matter).

Could someone tell me whether the following sentences are grammatically correct?

- She has a strong accents, like many people do.

- I am willing to meet your needs on this (matter).

Purists will insist on "as" instead of "like" in the first sentence.

She has a strong accent. Because accent is countable noun, it would be used as singular one.
