Hi there,

Would you please teach me this concept as it is important to me.

Bathroom floors always slope to one side VS Bathroom floors are always sloped to one side.

(Do you feel “Bathroom floors are always sloped to one side” it means, it was done by human or purposely? Or no different than “Bathroom floors always slope to one side”

The table slopes to one side VS The table is slopped to one side.

(Do you feel “The table is clopped to one side.” it means, it was an accident or flawed? Or no different than “The table slopes to one side”

Thanks in advance

I feel that the second one (with "are sloped") can be interpreted either way. It could be purposely by a person (passive voice) or not purposely (linking verb 'are' with adjective 'sloped').

Mate, what you are talking about is active and passive form of simple present tense. Some sentences make sense when used in passive voice only.

For example the case you mentioned above

Statement 1 - Bathroom floors always slope to one side. (active voice of simple present)

Statement 2 - Bathroom floors are always sloped to one side.(passive voice of simple present)

Statement 2 is better as bathroom floors are made purposely by human beings.

Hope it helps!

Nowadays, English is such a popular language that most people need to learn it to be able to communicate with native speakers. Well, this post is definitely going to be about English grammar.

Building up your English sentence structure is a must if you want to make full use of your English speaking skills. This article will help you improve your grammar and your English sentence structure. We will start by looking at the most common English sentence structure errors.

You don't have to be super smart to write for an international audience. In fact, many people are put off by the tone of writing in some languages. And even some native speakers of English have trouble remembering how to use correct grammar.
