Looks that way. Or if you count absolute numbers, it's ... not English) accommodation 15,100,000 accomodation 1,980,000 7.63 : 1

For sheer volume of misspellings: millennium 12,500,000 millenium 2,340,000 5.34 : 1 milenium 75,800 milennium 47,600 Google doesn't even offer the "did you mean" for the 2nd line above (for the 3rd and 4th lines it suggests the correct spelling)...nor does it complain about anything in the following, which is so widespread that dictionaries are beginning to offer both spellings without marking either as incorrect: minuscule 53,900 miniscule 248,000 0.217 : 1

The spelling errors that I find most interesting are the ones that are made by people who spell nearly everything else correctly. In my experience, two common ones in that category are "aperature" and "preceeding".
Google says
aperature 34,300
aperture 2,100,000
preceeding 253,000
preceding 7.690,000
Despite having come in a hard-fought second for the spelling championship of Boulder City, Nevada, in 1935*, I was unaware for many years that "dimunition" and "vacumn" were not widely accepted spellings.
Google shows that they're not completely unheard of:

dimunition 4,090
diminution 1,180,000
vacumn 17,600
vacuum 70,700,000
* After all but one other contestant had been eliminated, and after a long toe-to-toe battle with a lady who was a truly good speller, I misspelled "diarrhea" "diharrea".

(Yes, I know about "diarrhoea", but that isn't the American Way.)
For me, "cemetery" is the ordinary working word, and "graveyard" ... Brooklyn, I saw a tombstone with my name on it.

Why Brooklyn?

That's where it happened.

The game's over, RH. The numbers are too erratic. When I run the last one, I get minuscule 146,000 miniscule ... longer bases its estimates on its entire corpus but on whatever portion of it that happens to be easily accessible.

Feh..

I don't think I've ever had a bigger "what the hell?" moment than recently in this very group over the "frustrum/frustum" business...closest I can come was having to unlearn the pronunciations of the chemistry teacher who had "acetic" and "acidic" as homophones, and the general science teacher who did the same with "Sirius" and "Ceres"..r

Ben Z. suggested Yahoo Search as a good alternative, a sort of Google without the geographic factor.

Would you test it to see if you get close to the same results as I do today?

Well, that shakes that theory. May I ask what continent (or global sector) you are posting from, since we found earlier that the Google varied by general region?
