Hi teachers,

Is it ok if I say like this?

a/ Her hapless destiny seems to have denied her a normal life like anyone else's.
b/ It's as if an unfortunate fate has prevented her from living an ordinary life like her peers'.

By the way could you help me find a suitable verb which means when someone detests you ,he will not help you when you are in trouble or he/she will find ways to cause difficulty for you. For example , I say "most teachers are good and kind ,but there are a few bad teachers who always find ways to .....any student he/she doesn't like .Could you please help me find a suitable verb to fill out the blank.

Thank you in advance

.
The possessive is awkward; I suggest:

a/ Her hapless destiny seems to have denied her a normal life like anyone else.
b/ It's as if an unfortunate fate has prevented her from living an ordinary life like her peers.

For your other question, perhaps:

Most teachers are good and kind, but there are a few bad teachers who always find ways to thwart/obstruct/frustrate any student he/she doesn't like

Thank you Mister Micawber.

Can I say Most teachers are good and kind, but there are a few bad teachers who always find ways to victimize any student he/she doesn't like ?

Best wishes
