Hi, happy new year to all Englishforum members

Some of my friends wish Happy New Year, Peeps
and I am wondering what is actually meant by Peeps?

Thank you

It's short for "people," which is pronounced peeple.

People=peeple=peeps.

Happy New Year!

I've heard "peeps" used to mean baby chickens (especially the cute yellow marshmellow ones given out at Easter.). I suppose it could be slang for "people."

Grammar GeekIt's short for "people," which is pronounced peeple. People=peeple=peeps.

I think it may have its origin in an online chatty-type thing called something like Ppl. [Now that's a vague answer for you!]
