Hi!

What is the difference between these two sentences:

1. she has a new baby.

2. she had a new baby.

Well, does sentence number 2 mean she's "still" pregant right now or had already delivered a baby?

I read an article in local newspaper (in Korea), the translation said that the sentence number 2 means "she's pregant".

Please help... thanks in advance.

Your newspaper is wrong. 'Have' can mean 'possess' or 'give birth to'. In these sentences:

1. She has a new baby.-- ( have = possess) She gave birth to it recently and now possesses a child.

2. She had a new baby.-- (have = give birth to) She gave birth to it recently and now possesses a child.
