I have requested calif for friendship .

In this context which sentence is correct:
" Calif has requested to add you as a friend"
OR " has been requested to add you as a friend"
???

The second one.
This question raised on my mind when I got mail from EnglishForward.com it has subject line " Calif has requested to add you as a friend".
before that I was clear that "has been" is used in such case.
how can we suggest EnglishForward.com to correct this?
Students: We have free audio pronunciation exercises.
Where is that? I'll try to fix it.
Hey Manish, thanks for your concern.

Actually, when Mr.X wants to add me as a friend, I receive a system e-mail that says:

1. Title:

"Mr.X has requested your friendship on EnglishForward.com".
2. Message:

"Mr.X has requested to add you as a friend on EnglishForward.com."

I don't see anything wrong with the above sentences. However, another correct sentence would be, "I have been requested to add Mr.X as a friend" (requested by Mr.X himself, obviously). But we don't send out e-mails with such wording.

Coming back to your example,

"Calif has been requested to add you as a friend" - it means that you* sent Calif a friend request and *he will receive a notification about it (an e-mail with the sentences 1 and 2 I wrote above).

"Calif has requested to add you as a friend" - it means that Calif* sent you a friend request and *you will receive a notification about it (again, an e-mail with the sentences 1 and 2 I wrote above).

I hope I'm clear. Emotion: smile
Hey Mister Micawber, thanks for response.

just try to send me friendship request through the Forum .
You will get a "system E-mail". There you will get that mistake: in the subject line and also in the body.
I know what "system E-mail" mean, so I dont count it as big mistake.

Dear Ruslana, thanks for response.

here the scenario is completely def. thats what the actual problem is.
the actual scenario :

I requested Sarah Siqueira for friendship.
And I got mail from forum

subjected :" has requested your friendship on EnglishForward.com"

The mail also contain sentence: " has requested to add you as a friend on EnglishForward.com ." in the body.

I know its "system e-mail", so its not a big mistake .
