Have I correctly used 'in her behalf' in my sentence?

Old Mrs. Johnson experienced temporary relief from teaching-related anxieties when a certain Mr. Jackson did teaching in her behalf for a short period of time.

Context: There was somebody who performed the teaching job of Mrs. Johnson for a short period of time.
