Have I correctly used 'food' and 'foods' in my sentences below? When should I say pluralize 'food'? When should I not pluralize it? Why should I pluralize it when in fact it is an uncountable noun? Please enlighten me on this matter.

1. There are many kinds of food on my table.
2. There is much food on my plate.
3. Andy sells foods and beverages.

People used to eat different foods in the winter than in the summer. In the winter, they ate winter vegetables such as cabbage, carrots and potatoes and smoked meat. They also ate preserved or canned vegetables from last summer's harvest. In the summer, they ate fresh food -- vegetables from the garden, eggs and fresh meat.
