I am applying for a master's degree in Public Management and i would appreciate some advice about my motivation letter as i am not a native speaker. There are some things to be added alter after i finish my internship but i would be grateful if u can give me some help on the other parts..

Here it is>

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to you to apply for the Master’s Degree in Public Management in which I am particularly interested.

My aim is to work in an international field related to public management and consulting. Therefore I would like to gain a deeper theoretical knowledge in management and practical skills to evaluate public policy in a multicultural context. I believe a university with a high reputation like Bocconi is the best place to achieve my career objectives.

I hold a 4 year bachelor’s degree in French Studies and Education from the University of Sofia St Kliment Ohridski and I am going to complete in May 2005 a 3 year specialization in Public Relations and Business Advertisement at the University of National and World Economics, Sofia, Bulgaria. I am confident that the linguistic and educational profile that I acquired as well as a broad literary and artistic culture combined with my knowledge in communication and marketing will be an important asset for my realization in the field of public management. To further prepare myself for the program I completed a 5 month internship at the Community of Pazardjik district, department Education. Thus I gained a valuable practical experience in public policy and I got prepared to assume later a leadership position in public schools or play a district - wide administrative role. This strengthened my leadership skills and motivated me to serve as a catalyst for social and educational changes. I worked as an assistant of ( to be developed…????) .I tremendously enjoyed my experience because I had the chance to take part in different management tasks, for example organizing…. …( to be developed...Some projects???)

I would finally like to add some activities which have developed in me a permanent taste of competitiveness and also emphasized my organization skills. For 14 years, I participate in a group for folkloric and modern dances. I have recently become responsible of the organization of the dance activities and the international contests. Dancing, I had the opportunity to travel around Europe and Asia and become disciplined, ……..

Of an exceptional motivation, I strongly imply myself in my academic and professional activities to carry out my objectives. My international experiences attest of my capacity of integration and adaptation. I had the pleasure to meet varied cultures and to affirm my intrapersonal ease. Opened to others, speaking three foreign languages in addition to my Bulgarian mother tongue (French, English, Italian) I have a very strong desire to pursue a career in governement institutions, thus allowing my blooming on the personal level as well as professional.

The ambitions which I have just exposed to you wouldnt be realized without a solid theoretical background and a strong real world experience specialized in the management of different public institutions. I am deeply convinced that the MPM that Bocconi University offers is the best way of concretizing this future because of its international orientation. A completion of this Master’s Degree in your school will be an excellent springboard for my future career and will provide me the knowledge, confidence, and contacts to realize my dreams. Furthermore, the courses this program combines match perfectly my professional projects and academic expectations.

Thank you very much for considering my request. I look forward to your positive response.

Sincerely yours,

Thank you all

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to you to apply for the Master’s Degree in Public Management [in which I am particularly interested….no value…I trust you would only apply to those programs which you are interested, no?]

My aim is to work in an international field related to public management and consulting. Therefore I would like to gain a deeper theoretical knowledge in management and practical skills to evaluate public policy in a multicultural context. [Whatever that means.] I believe a university with a high reputation like Bocconi is the best place to achieve my career objectives.

I hold a [four] year bachelor’s degree in French Studies and Education from the University of Sofia St Kliment Ohridski and I am going to complete in May 2005 a 3 [write all your numbers out] year specialization in Public Relations and Business Advertisement at the University of National and World Economics, Sofia, Bulgaria. I am confident that the linguistic and educational profile that I acquired as well as a broad literary and artistic culture combined with my knowledge in communication and marketing will be [] important asset for my realization in the field of public management. To further prepare myself for the program I completed a 5[number] month internship at the Community of Pazardjik district, department Education. …( to be developed...Some projects???) [You need to tighten this up. It sounds a bit wordy at the present time.]

[Not sure how this demonstrates “competitiveness”. It’s valuable, no doubt, but I don’t see the link to the competitive aspect.]

Of an exceptional motivation, I strongly imply myself in my academic and professional activities to carry out my objectives. My international experiences attest of my capacity of integration and adaptation. I had the pleasure to meet varied cultures and to affirm my intrapersonal ease. Opened to others, speaking three foreign languages in addition to my Bulgarian mother tongue (French, English, Italian) I have a very strong desire to pursue a career in governement [spelling] institutions, thus allowing my blooming on the personal level as well as professional.

The ambitions which I have just exposed to you would not be realized without a solid theoretical background and a strong real world experience specialized in the management of different public institutions. I am deeply convinced that the MPM that Bocconi University offers is the best way of [realizing] this future because of its international orientation [too blasé]. A completion of this Master’s Degree in your school will be an excellent springboard [hate springboard…it is like saying “she will be an excellent springboard before meeting my real wife…diminishes the importance of the education itself] for my future career and will provide me the knowledge, confidence, and contacts to realize my dreams. Furthermore, the courses this program combines match perfectly my professional projects and academic expectations.

Thank you very much for considering my request. I look forward to your positive response.

Sincerely yours,

You

Dear

I am writing to express my interest in applying for the Master's Degree Programme in Cooperation and Development starting in November 2010. I am confident that my academic background and my working experience, enables me to make a contribution to the University. My aim is to work in an international field related to cooperation, such as aid program manager, and development consulting. Therefore I would like to gain a deeper theoretical knowledge and practical skills to manage development projects in complex, multi-dimensional and multi-cultural environments.

Currently, I am cursing my fifth year of my university degree in Government and International Relations with a concentration in Public Management at “Universidad Externado de Colombia”, and I’m expecting to receive my diploma in September 2010.

During my student life I had the opportunity of fulfilling two internships. The first one, I did it in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development during 2008, where I had a first contact with topics such as international commerce and agricultural project financing. This first experience allowed me to develop my team working skills, but also to practice some statistical and analytical tools.

Afterwards, I decided to focus in my studies and as an extracurricular activity I assisted to the Professor Aldo Olano of the Universidad Externado in the investigation and the writing of articles published in international publications.

Nowadays I am working in Colciencias, the governmental institution in charge of promoting science, technology and innovation. I started working there as intern for the internationalization of the “Programa Ondas”, which encourage investigation and science in Colombia. After finishing my second internship, I continued working there with the objective of designing a strategy of cooperation for the “Programa Ondas”. I have tremendously enjoyed this experience because I had the chance to take part in different management tasks, for example organizing some international events and to manage the relations with similar programs in Latin America.

From that experience, I identified the importance of international cooperation as a tool to contribute to the development of a country, not only as a receptor of aid but also as a way to transfer its the endogenous capacities. Thus, I decided to apply for a master in this area, which I consider as an opportunity to develop myself in the academic and personal field. My aim is to return back to my country after finishing my master and contribute to its development through International cooperation.

I truely believe that the Master in Cooperation and Developement will conduce to the evolution of my career since it will allow me to have a better understanding of projects designing and evaluation, as also how to coordinate the interaction of several actors successfully. Furthermore, its international orientation is a great opportunity for me to have a multicultural exchange, which is a valuable aspect I have taken into account. I love to meet people from different cultures and I get adapted to new environments easily. Therefore, I am deeply convinced that the courses of this program match perfectly with my professional and personal projects and academic expectations.

Because of my holistic formation that I have received during my five year in he university, my research spirit, and my work experience, I consider suitable for this Master Program. I am a very organized and diligent person in the consecution of my goals. I also like to combine teamwork with individual work, since I think that teamwork is the key to achieve the expected results.

I look forward to join the master in Cooperation and Development in order to prove my abilities and gain new skills.

Thank you for considering my application.

Yours sincerely,

Andrea Martinez
