We have been asked to write a personal reflective essay for English. My topic is being the eldest child. Can you please help me come up with some imagery that I could use for my essay. Please, please help. Also, do you have any ideas on what sort of things should I be writing about with regards to my topic? English is my worst subject at school and I'm not really good at vocabulary either. Lastly, how do you think I could make my essay "pass", what sorts of things are needed for a personal reflective essay?

Thanks
Hi,

You could start by making a rough list of all the good things about being the eldest child, and then another list about all the bad things.

I have done that. All im really finding hard to do is how to put it all together and how to write it so that it makes sense. I also want to include some imagery and use word choice but i can't think of any to use

Hi,

You seem to be stuck on the very basic idea of how to structure your essay. My advice is to forget about imagery and fancy vocabulary until you have a basic outline, and even a first draft, of your essay. You can try to add such things later.

What is your overall opinion about whether it is good or bad to be the eldest child?

Do you want to write it as a chronological story about your life?

Do you want to talk about the three best things, and then the three worst things?

You need to choose, and to make up your mind.
