Dear ABC

When I was informed an emergency case of units failure at XYW building, 10/F, I urged term contractor to provide a cost estimation for repairing the units to solicit user’s approval.

After my vetting, I found a problem of the cost estimation and requested term contractor to resubmit a quotation according to the contract rate. Therefore, it was found that the final cost of the purchase order was lower than the cost estimation.

Dear ABC,

After the unit failure on the 10th floor, XYW building, I asked the term contractor to provide a repair estimate. However, I found a problem in his estimate and asked him to resubmit according to the contract rate. Therefore, the final cost was lower than estimated.

Thank you for your help.

I have a grammar problem in the last sentence "Therefore, the final cost was lower than estimated".

Would you mind telling whether the estimated is past participle as an adjective or not?

Thank You

Oh, I suppose an argument could be offered for both, but I read it as a reduced clause:

Therefore, the final cost was lower than [was] estimated.
