i am from Australia & this is my first Post here. Glad to see helping community & i hope someone would help me. Well, i have got an Assignment about Business English & i dont have much experience in it. They have given me the situation & some questions which are given below:

Adapting Messages: Media Selection Barbara Marquardt is in charge of public relations for a cruise line that operates out of . She is shocked to read a letter in the local newspaper from a disgruntled passenger, complaining about the service and entertainment on the recent cruise. Marquardt will have to respond to these publicized criticisms in some way.

What audiences will she need to consider in her response?

What medium should she choose?

If the letter has been published in a travel publication widely read by travel agents and cruise travelers, how might her cruise of action differ?

Here is the answers i have written, but i am very unsure about Third question. Please help me about this.

Well, now it’s a matter of company reputation, she needs to consider all the audiences which have read the newspaper & heard about this from any other medium. She must have to discover the attitudes of audience, what exactly they wanted to know, and how to response their questions to save company services & product reputation.

What medium should she choose?

In communicating & responding, choosing the correct medium is crucial. She can either communicate verbally or non-verbally, but it depends what medium should she choose in that type of situation. In my opinion, should either choose an online media, such as company main website or must have to respond in the same way such as local newspapers or magazines. She must have to ensure people that the services & entertainment they are offering are 95 % satisfied & they are continuously trying to improve it.

Your first response does not answer the question - you simply say "she needs to consider the audiences" but you need to say who they are.

In your second response, you probably mean in writing or in person, not verbally or non-verbally. There are some grammar issues that we can deal with later.

For the third question, it comes back to audiences. (However, in most respectably magazines, if someone complains about something, the magazine will give the company being complained about a chance to respond.) You need to think about the relative importance of the audiences who read which of the publications.

I can't help you in grammar because I'm a beginner, but can give my opinion about the reply, I hope to be useful.

1 - she must consider only the local audience, because who don't read the criticisms, must not read the reply. So she must consider the local audience, and the same target of the local journal.

2 - she must consider a proactive media, as the newpaper, where she can reply and go beyond this criticism.

3 - the cruise line must publicize the service and entertinement in all travel agents and cruise travelers contact, for example in their office, cruise ship. Moreover send booklet, publicizing service and entertinement, to the travel agents and potiential customer.
