Graham slammed him back again. “Don’t lie to me! Drugs?”“No.”“You snuck off to the bushes and stuck it to that little slut, didn’t you?”“No! Ashley’s not a slut.”

These expressions are so much part of the youth culture today, that they are commonly seen and heard, especially in romance novels. We cannot expect our learners to read Victorian coming-of-age novels such as Little Women and Pride and Prejudice.

How else will students learn this kind of vocabulary, and also learn not to use certain words and expressions in polite company?

Perhaps we should make a separate forum for contemporary modern fiction, romance novels, and slang, moderated, of course, to avoid excessive abuse.

When you post here, Hasibul, please use your best English! It is good practice. English Forums is not a blog where you can be sloppy and not use the shift-key.
