Hold back vs hold in please?

- Try to hold back/ hold in your laughter.

- Try to refrain from laughing.

How would you say this?

Can you say PARTICUALR SIZED?

  • Is it possible that a hotel of the same branch doesn't have a particular sized room that an another hotel has.

  • I left a little later than expected/planned/scheduled.

  • Thank you

Both hold back and hold in are OK.

Regarding "Particular...", You can say that but it sounds a bit awkward.

Is it possible that a hotel of the same branch of a hotel doesn't have a hotel room of the same size as that of another hotel in the same branch?
    Thank you
Which would you pick yourself HLOD BACK or IN?

Don't you think there is too much repetition in your sentence.

Is it possible that a hotel of the same branch of a hotel doesn't have a hotel room of the same size as that of another hotel in the same branch?

What do you think of this:

Is it possible that 2 hotels of the same branch don't have the same-sized hotel rooms as one another.

    Thank you

    I would say "hold in"

I guess your most current interation might be better. I think it is just a really awkward sentence and it sounds awkward no matter how you write it.

    Let's try again:

Don't you think that hotels in the same branch would have hotel rooms of the same size?

That sounds more normal to me.
    Hi,

We don't normally speakof hotels as being 'in the same branch'.

Perhaps 'the same company'. Is this what you mean?

    Best wishes, Clive
I agree. I was not sure what you meant by branch. If you were referring to a group of hotels of the same region, you MIGHT use the word branch.

    Hello Clive,

Could you tell me how to say these yourself please?

1 Don't you think that hotels in/of the same chain would have hotel rooms of the same size?

Because of technical problems, we overbooked (you). We'll have to send you to another hotel of/in our chain.

I work for a chain of hotels. Would that be like the hilton, there is one in each city or so?

    Thank you Clive
    Hi,

1 Don't you think that hotels in the same chain would have rooms the same size?

Because of technical problems, we overbooked. We'll have to send you to another of our hotels.

This needs to be phrased much more apologetically.

I work for a chain of hotels.

Would that be like Hilton, which has one in almost every city?

    Clive
    Hi Clive,

I had a quick question please

Could you tell me if OF works here as well?
