December 29, 1795,

To Josphine,

I awake all filled with you. Your image and the intoxicating pleasures of last night, allow my senses no rest.

Sweet and matchless Josephine, how strangely you work upon my heart.

Are you angry with me? Are you unhappy? Are you upset?

My soul is broken with grief and my love for you forbids repose. But how can I rest any more, when I yield to the feeling that masters my inmost self, when I quaff from your lips and from your heart a scorching flame?

Yes! One night has taught me how far your portrait falls short of yourself!

You start at midday: in three hours I shall see you again.

Till then, a thousand kisses, mio dolce amor! but give me none back for they set my blood on fire.

That letter is by Napoleon.

You will have to create your own letter. Only you and her know the two of you relate to each other.

My advice...step out of your comfort zone and write something absolutely amazing.

Good luck!

That's a lovely letter. Who wouldn't have liked to be Josephine??? Emotion: stick out tongue I agree with MH, yeah, yeah, write something absolutely crazy, something out of the ordinary, maybe something naughty... something which could take someone's breath away.Maybe you could tell us about your experience. I would really like to write a love letter to an imaginary lover so as to practise my English but I don't think I have the right vocabulary. Hoping to hear from you soon.

Enjoy.

Don't try to imitate his style. His style of his letters is unique to him and that time. But you can learn how he writes his love letters with reckless abandon.

She is not my colleague.but the company she worked for is near to our company.I know her email and phone number, but I don't know her real name.I only know her english name 'Lisa'.
she is so beautiful that my face became rubicund every time I met her.
I have only met her for several times. But every time when I look at her ,I feel that she look at me stealthily too......but I don't know whether my feeling is right or something wrong......

-------------I don't know whether my expression in english is appropriate or not.If my expression is not good enough, you can guess what I wanna say in fact and you can point out how I should express in english--------------
Kama,

This is going from help with English to dating advice.

First you need to get know her. Ask her out for lunch or supper, take her to a movie or take her to a some sort of cultural event or whatever. Bottom line: Get to know her better.

She's just a person. She's like you and me. So the first meeting ought to be friendly and casual.

See where things go from there.

If I were you, I wouldn't be writing be writing a strong love letter when you don't know her real name yet. In fact, I would simply ask her out next time you see her. Don't hide by the safety of an e-mail. Just approach her and talk to her. If you are a bit nervous, that is good. She's probably a bit nervous too.

So next time you see her looking at you, smile back at her and then simply walk over and say hi. Talk to her like a normal person.

If you are set on writing a letter, then I would suggest something light and humorous. You don't want to scare her off.

Your English seems sufficiently strong that you can express yourself quite well. So feel free to come back and ask for more clarity on what YOU have written.

Not sure what else I can add here Kama.

Good luck. I'll be cheering for you.

You don't want to go declaring your love to someone who barely knows you; you will just scare her off. I wonder if you can genuinly love someone you don't actually know yet anyway, perhaps you are attracted to her and would like to get to know her better.

You need to get to know her properly...have a little chat with her, make her laugh, smile and be friendly, suggest a coffee or something. If you want to write a letter because you feel too shy to approach her directly, you need to keep it fairly short and 'light-hearted' and phrase it in a way that will not seem threatening or embarrassing to either of you if she turns out not to be interested.

Can you find out something more about her from a colleague? Is there a film she would like to see, a band she likes listening to, an author she likes reading? a joint interest makes things much easier. You could then send her a note along the lines of
'Hi ......(name),

I hear you are a fan of Hollywood movies as well. I'm going to see the new Tom Hanks movie next week, would you like to come with me? Perhaps we could grab a coffee afterwards and swap our opinions on whether it is up to his usual standard?
Gosh, I am terrible writing love letters. A very good friend of mine has this absolutely wonderful lover and wants to write him a letter telling him that. She has asked me what to say but I am dreadful at writing love letters to lovers. It's not the language that bothers me it is what you should say on this occasions. Any helpers on the forums?
