Hi,

Please have a look at this:

[About the HR manager] Part of your job will be to serve as a clearinghouse for operating manages’ recommendations for reductions, department by department, as they figure out how to get their break even point as low as possible without jeopardizing the business’s future.

Does 'clearinghouse' mean the place in the company where information goes in and out? (I think not +_+)

Many thanks,

Nessie.

In the general sense, a clearinghouse is structure or entity which collects, stores, and disseminates information, metadata, and materials. That seemed to fit the context of your sentence. However, the bold portion is somewhat of a mess in terms of meaning.

Thank you very much, Goodman Emotion: smile

Oh, I'm sorry there was a typo in that bold part. Here is the correct passage:

Part of your job will be to serve as a clearing house for operating managers’ recommendations for reductions, department by department, as they figure out how to get their break even point as low as possible without jeopardizing the business’s future.

However I still find it impossible to understand that bold part +__+

Could anyone please shed some light on it?

Thank you very much.
I am not sure where you got this passage. I still had trouble understanding and figuring out the real context and its intended meaning. Maybe it's me.
