What does it mean when someone says "i have a crush on you"?

Is it "i like you", or it means "i liked you before but never had a relationship with you"? or what else?

Thanks!

Hi,

It means that I feel a very strong and romantic emotion, similar to love, towards you, but it probably only is temporary.

Teenagers often get crushes, very often on someone they have only seen but never spoken to. Sometimes they get a crush on a movie star or a pop star. Adults don't tend to get crushes, it's a disease of young people.

Best wishes, Clive

A crush is a brief but intense feeling of love (infatuation) for someone, usually that you haven't had a relationship with.

Not something you usually tell the person you have a crush on about. Emotion: wink

I'm attracted to you.
I'm really fond of you.
I'm always happy around you.

If it's romance, you can also say:

I'm falling for you.
I'm going crazy over you.

thanks for your help!!!

so it's better to say "i like you" instead of "i have a crush on u" when they are already friends or have already known each other?
Hi,

so it's better to say "i like you" instead of "i have a crush on u" when they are already friends or have already known each other?

Can you tell me if you are talking about just friendship, or are you talking about romance between a young man and a young woman?

It's hard to advise you about this. A lot depends not just on the words, but on the way you say them and on your personality, as well as your age. Here are a few comments.

I like you This is not a very strong statement, it's kind of casual and friendly.

i have a crush on u Usually, people say this to their friends about another person, but they don't say this to the actual person they have a crush on.

I love you You could also say this. However, it's a pretty strong statement, and sometimes pretty serious, like 'I love you, I want to marry you'. So, I wouldn't say this unless you want to get fairly serious.

Good luck! Clive

So, what is a good way to say the person you had a crash on about your feelings? I don want to us the word "love" because it's too serious....however just 'i like you' is not really good enough to explain my feelings.Emotion: thinking
