Essay is a type of articles to deliver ideas or opinions to readers. So, the standard of a good essay should be its capability to convey the ideas and facts accurately in an attractive way.

Just like a saying says, “no one can please everybody”; to impress everyone is also beyond the ability of any good essay. So, before we rest our hands on keyboard, we must be very clear who are targets of our essay. That means we should know who they are by their names, we should also know where are their interest; they are civilized, nice people, or barbarians. Barbarians want food; we can toss meat in front of them to catch their attentions before we can start to talk. For civilized people like us, whose focuses are more diverse, and subtle, we have to do something to make our topics appealing. For people who want power, we can start from the lifestyle of president of United States. For people who want money, we can introduce from Wall street business events, even though we want to get their pockets empty.

Once we succeed in catching their attentions and inspiring their desires to read, we need skills to deliver ideas and facts accurately and effectively. We should do our best to avoid any grammar mistakes, and make our statement vividly to keep them reading to the end of the paragraph. As to how they are going to react, they may be happy, angry, and disappointed, but that is none of our business.

Concerning essay is targeting at people, it should adopt language styles that people feel comfortable to read. The errors from grammar and spelling could undermine the confidence readers may have on the opinions.
The idea has been nicely and concisely presented. Well done!
Here is my version of your essay - I have kept the ideas almost same, but expressed in different words :

An Essay is an article expressing author's ideas and opinions about a specific topic. A good essay would be evaluated by its ability to fulfill its purpose of conveying ideas in an accurate and attractive way.

Commensurate with the old saying-"You cannot please everyone", it would be unkind to expect a good essay to appeal all audiences. Thus even before you pen your thoughts in words, it is apt to envisage clearly who your readers are. This would encompass knowing your readers' interests, backgrounds and proclivities.

Uncivilized and barbarians would require you to toss meat at them to catch their attention, even before you come to the main theme. On the other hand, civilized audiences, whose focuses are more diverse and interests more subtle, would demand more creative ways, for your essay to be appealing.

For people who are interested in power, we can start with the lifestyle of president of United States. For people who want money, we can introduce with Wall Street business events, though ironically all we might want is to siphon their pockets empty.

Once we succeed in catching their attentions and titillate them to read, we would need skills to deliver ideas and facts accurately and effectively. We should do our best to avoid grammatical mistakes and keep our writing vivid for them to read till the very end. As to how the readers will react- be happy or angry and disappointed, it should be none of our business.

Lastly the author should adopt the language style that readers feel most comfortable to read. Grammatical and spelling errors would only undermine the confidence readers might have reposed on the opinions expressed.
