My essay:

Starvation has always been one of the most concerning issues of mankind regardless of agricultural advancements. There are two main reasons contributing to this problem, and according measures can be taken.

To begin with, the world population has increased rapidly over decades, and has put a significant pressure on natural resources as well as farming to accommodate for a large number of people. Farmers and food manufacturers said that it has been very challenging for them to produce sufficient food to feed a disproportionate number of individuals on earth in the present time even though there are developments in farming and food producing methods. In response to this phenomenon, government should enforce law to regulate population, especially in developing countries where there are high birth rates. This can help to resolve the issue of overpopulation.

Moreover, excessive food waste accounts for many people being left starving. In many places around the world, everyday, people throw out a large amount of food which is expired according to its expiring dates, or which seems to go off. However, in many cases this thrown-away food is still usable, and can be given to those in need. For example, many reports show that amount of food waste in the United States indeed could feed the world population. To tackle this problem, educational campaigns can be held to raise awareness among citizens about food waste and its impacts on human beings such as people in other parts of the world are dying of famine. By having awareness about the issue, people could change their action.

In conclusion, although there has been progress in agriculture, many individuals in different parts of the world are still experiencing hunger because of overpopulation and excessive food waste. Population law and educational campaigns should be operated to mitigate the problem.
