TOPIC: MORE AND MORE PEOPLE ARE MIGRATING TO CITIES IN SEARCH OF A BETTER LIFE, BUT CITY LIFE CAN BE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. EXPLAIN SOME OF THE DIFFICULTIES OF LIVING IN A CITY. HOW CAN GOVERNMENTS MAKE URBAN LIFE BETTER FOR EVERYONE?

Cities are often seen as places of opportunity, but there are numerous drawbacks of living in a large metropolis. The government should make great efforts to improve city life for the average inhabitant.
The major problem for migrators hoping to move to big cities is that the cost of living is liable to higher than in small towns or villages. city dwellers have to pay higher prices for housing, transport, or even food. It is one of the serious issues for both the poor and homeless people. Another issue is that urban areas tend to suffer from social problems such as high crime and poverty, overpopulation, unemployment, and so on. Furthermore, environmental problems such as air pollution from industrial zones or traffic may have a devasting effect on the planet. Moreover, in rush hours, the streets and public transport systems are usually overcrowded, which may lead to noise and air pollution. As a result, city life can be unhealthy and stressful.
However, there is also a wide range of measures that the government should take to tackle these problems. Firstly, the government could invest money in developing infrastructure to reduce the cost of living. Secondly, the local authorities should initiate the policy to develop provincial towns and rural areas by moving industry from the metropolitan areas to the countrysides. Besides, they could certainly implement a range of measures to enhance the quality of life for all city residents. Thirdly, politicians also have the power to ban private vehicles from city centers during peak hours and promote citizens to use cleaner public transport, which may help to reduce both air pollution and traffic congestion.
To summarise, the government must take immediate actions to improve the living standards of all city residents.
