______________

The bar chart compares the amount of money spent on five different products in 2010 in the UK and France.

In general, the UK’s inhabitants paid more for consumer goods than did the French in most categories. Besides, the biggest difference in the amount of money spent by the two countries was in the figure for cameras.

The figures for cars held the lion’s share of the expenditure in both France and Britain, at approximately £400,000 and £450,000, respectively. On the other hand, perfume accounted for the least amount of money spent by people in those countries.

Furthermore, cameras had the most remarkable gap between the money spent by France and the UK, around £200,000. The figure for the latter was more than double the amount of money spent by the former, £350,000 and £150,000, in that order. Additionally, the figures for computers and books still showed a significant gap between the expenditure in both countries, at slightly over £50,000 and £100,000, accordingly.
