Essay topics: Some people believe that nowadays we have too many choices.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Dear AlpheccaStars, please help me by reviewing this essay.

The development of technology has positively changed our society to a greater extent as modern life seemingly makes it harder to make a decision than in the past when there were a few choices. Thus, it is believed that there is a plenty of options for people to choose from. In my opinion, I agree with this statement in terms of education and entertainment.

First, people now have a variety of choices to access advanced education and training than before. In other words, there is a growing trend of students studying abroad or self-studying at home thanks to the help of the Internet. Thus, depending upon each person's interest or financial status, people can decide on which types of education best fit them. Moreover, while the previous generation in Vietnam normally ended their study at the age of eighteen and started settling down, the younger generation now has more choices on whether they should go for higher education or find a job. Regarding job opportunities, the options now are no longer limited in their hometown but overseas.

Second, technology enables people to more choices to entertain than ever before. A case in point is that radio, TV and smart devices gradually replace the conventional form of news such as magazines or newspaper. Instead of spending time and money going to a concert, people now can enjoy music at ease with Youtube or musical apps.

In brief, there is an ever-increasing number of options that people can choose from nowadays, ranging from education to entertainment. In my view, this has a positive impact on the society since the more choices people have, the more likely they find the one that best fits, thus enjoying life to the fullest.

You are not going to see such questions in the IELTS, at least in the academic module.

I suggest you take "Authentic Examination Papers from Cambridge ESOL" collections. There are 13 books (1~13) which cover these collections of examination papers to day. You'd better choose the five recent ones (9~13) to prepare for the exam. I think you can find the electronic versions on the internet.
