TASK 2: Some people say that advertising is extremely successful at persuading us to buy things. Other people think that advertising is so common that we no longer pay attention to it.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Many people have different views about the positive and negative effects of advertisement. In my perspective, both opinions are excellent in equal measure, and I am going to elaborate on the given topic.

Advertising creates a myriad of advantages for producers, traders, and especially consumers. Firstly, advertising plays a vital role in introducing a new product in the market. It assists a business to become more widely known and stimulates people to buy products and use services of that business through advertising signs or online sales websites on other platforms such as tiki, Lazada, and Amazon. Moreover, advertising facilitates the mass production of goods and increases sales volume. In addition, some advertisements will also address issues such as how to set up children, ingredients of drugs, milk. Thus, through advertising, users can catch many skills in life and know more information. For example, thanks to advertising, people can know many other applications of milk cartons such as plants, decorations, etc. instead of just storing milk as before.

On the other hand, brand promotion still reveals a plethora of dramatic downsides. To begin with, many advertisements produce incorrect information that hurts consumers. For instance, recently, the Nivea product line "Bio-Slim Complex" was introduced in 2001, with the argument that "daily use of Nivea will minimize body size." However, often people find that the items cannot be decreased in size after a time of use, but their skin is dark and red since this substance is not appropriate for all skin types. Furthermore, false advertising will first bring awe-inspiring effects to the brand image, cause economic losses, cause the public to boycott the product, especially to lose trust from the public.

To sum up, advertising about the product has some positive effects albeit a few drawbacks. I partly believe in the success of an excellent product from marketing.

That is very bad. It is not a thesis statement. This essay is asking you to write on two topics:

1. Advertisement is very effective at selling products.

2. People really do not notice advertisements very much because they are so common.

You have to answer this question in the first paragraph: What is your opinion? Are you and your friends persuaded by adverts to buy a lot of new stuff, or do you just ignore most of them and buy what you are familiar with?

You must read the instructions and determine the type of essay. This task is type #5 - discuss both sides and give your opinion.
You did not write about the second side at all, that is, "advertising is so common that nobody notices it."


To sum up, advertising about the product has some positive effects albeit a few drawbacks. (off-topic) I partly believe in the success of an excellent product from marketing.
