Question: Some people think that schools should select students according to their academic abilities, while others believe that it is better to have students with different abilities studying together. Discuss both views and state your own opinion.

Answer:

The topic of choosing students is always contentious with a wide range of opinions. Many people hold the belief that selecting students based on their academic performances should be the ultimate idea. However, other people are self-confident that it is more appropriate to have students with various potentials. These two opinions flatly contradict each other and I support the latter point of view.
On the one hand, most schools prioritise choosing students according to their academic capacities. Every school plays a key role in providing students with fundamental and advanced knowledge about various subjects. Therefore, a qualified school will more often than not select students with high grades rather than the ones with poor academic performances For example, once a student is good enough to enter a school for the gifted, their talents can be discovered and the teachers will try their utmost to invest in the student's ability so that he or she can achieve high prizes in academic competitions.
On the other hand, there is also an opinion that it would be a better idea to let students with different abilities study together in the same school. In the developed world, students go to school not only to study but also to gain experience in other fields such as sports, research, and so on. The students who are experts in playing sports can motivate others to keep fit and stay healthy, and the ones who are keen on creative activities including singing, dancing or drawing can help other students evolve their imagination and creativity. After graduating these students can become more active and they can develop themselves both mentally and physically.
In conclusion, while some people may hold some comfort in pursuing that schools should choose their students based on academic abilities, others still argue that having students with diverse abilities is the best route to achieve teaching and learning accomplishments. From my point of view, I thoroughly agree that schools would be a better place to study if there are students with various abilities learning together.
