Modern life, children are easily impacted when they interact with information surrounding different resources such as video games, TV shows, music, and books. There are some people say that reading books is better for children than watching movies or playing games on computers. Personally, I disagree with this argument and I believe in the belief of digital products.

First of all, reading books is a really helpful routine for adults when they require to relax or even work and research but not suitable for children. The first reason, the children seem to not excited with books or letters inside them. Although it includes plenty of good content, spending time for reading requires patience a lot and children do not have patient enough to do. The evidence to prove, there are just a few students reading books voluntarily in the previous night to prepare for the new lessons in the morning after, they usually play games or watching TV series before bedtime instead. Somehow, cartoons and games catch their attention naturally. In this way, videos are applied for education in many countries, lessons are more interesting, livelier and intelligible if they are illustrated by images and sounds actually.

On the other hand, despite positive beliefs, playing games and watching TV too much are two of the main reasons for eye diseases such as myopia and astigmatism. In this case, reading books chosen as the alternative method, children still comprehend all the same crucial information with videos on computers. In spite of more difficult, it is necessary for protecting children from eye-diseases. Nevertheless, books are designed better, people use a lot of images and colors to make books becoming more attractive. For example, all fairy tale books that decorated mysteriously and colorfully rouse the curiousness of children. In my perspective, I think it is an intelligent method of manufacturers, this way helps a lot of parents easily restrict excessive interaction of children with computers or televisions.

In conclusion, videos and computer games are really useful not only for entertaining, connecting, or business but also for researching and education. They replace gradually traditionally educated methods like reading books but incompletely.

In modern life, children are easily impacted when they interact with information from their surroundings and that comes from different resources such as video games, TV shows, music, and books. There are some people who say that reading books is better for children than watching movies or playing games on computers. Personally, I disagree with this argument and I believe in the belief of digital products. [ That’s poorly phrased. Be precise as to what you mean. You need to state a clear position at the end of the introduction.]

-----------------------------------------------

You have some good ideas, but they are very disorganized. A key to getting a good mark for an essay is to structure (organize) your ideas into cohesive body paragraphs. Each paragraph should start with a clear topic sentence that defines the scope of that paragraph. After that, you elaborate on the idea in subsequent sentences in a general-to-specific manner. That means you need to give specific examples towards the end of a body paragraph.

Regroup your thoughts and, just for now, post only the topic sentences for your two body paragraphs below.

This is my topic sentences for each body paragraph:

- Body paragraph 1: First of all, computers and televisions change the way adults communicating with children

- Body paragraph 2: However, despite positive beliefs, games and TV series still cannot replace books

Thank you!

No. This is not a "discuss both sides" essay. The question asked you to agree or disagree with the given statement. In your introduction, you said that you disagreed, and that you think reading books is not necessarily better than watching TV or playing computer games.

Therefore, you need to think of reasons to support your position. Brainstorm and write down all the ideas that come to your mind to support your position. Write them down in a list (brief point form) below. For now, do not write paragraphs and do not worry too much about grammar. Just write a list of what can support your position.

Thank you for spending time for me.

This is ideas support my position:

  • Children usually hate reading books they prefer watching TV or play games
  • Children are patient enough for reading the whole book
  • Because children like cartoons and games more so they are applied on education
  • However, excessively interact with TV and computer causes some eye-diseases
  • Reading books is still chosen as the alternative in case children have excessive interaction with TV and computer
Students: We have free audio pronunciation exercises.

This is These are the ideas to support my position:

Children usually hate reading books they prefer watching TV or play games [ OK]

Children are patient enough for reading the whole book [ Not OK. That is against your position!]

Because children like cartoons and games more so they are applied on education [ OK]

However, excessively interact with TV and computer causes some eye-diseases [ Not OK. That is against your position!]

Reading books is still chosen as the alternative in case children have excessive interaction with TV and computer [ Not OK. That is against your position!]

As you can see, three of the ideas you mentioned are actually against the position you've taken! They're no use in this kind of essay. Can you think of other ideas that support watching TV/playing computer games?

These ideas are changed:

  • Children usually hate reading books they prefer watching TV or play games
  • Children are not patient enough for reading the whole book
  • Because children like cartoons and games more so they are applied to education
  • Playing games is considered as an intellectual sport and it helps to enhance children's ways of logical thinking
  • TV shows help children approach some artistic subjects such as singing, dancing, etc

----------

By the way, I have a question:

Should I write my essay with 70% of expressions to support my argument and 30% of expressions writing about the disadvantages of my position? I want my essay is written on two sides of the problem given by examiners

Thank you

Students: Are you brave enough to let our tutors analyse your pronunciation?

These are my updated ideas: are changed:

- Children usually hate reading books they prefer watching TV or play games

- Children are not patient enough for reading the whole book

- Because children like cartoons and games more so they are applied to education

- Playing games is considered as an intellectual sport and it helps to enhance children's ways of logical thinking

- TV shows help children approach some artistic subjects such as singing, dancing, etc

Very good. Now, do you see how we can split these into two groups? Post below.

By the way, I have a question:

Should I write my essay with 70% of expressions to support my argument and 30% of expressions writing about the disadvantages of my position? I want my essay is written on to cover the two sides of the problem given by the examiners.

No, you shouldn't do that. As I said above, this is not that kind of essay. You need to stick to what the question asks you.
