The two maps illustrate the view of a student common five years ago and at present.

Overall, it is clear that the community room has overcome a significant transformation with the installation of new facilities.

Five years ago, the room contained four circle tables with each surrounded by six chairs. There were two benches on the right-hand side of the room. On the right of these benches were a sink and a cupboard, while a fridge and a microwave were on the left.

So far, two previous tables have been demolished to make way for a greater rectangular table and a new bench for students using laptops. In addition, a microwave has replaced one bench and a drinks machine has been equipped to meet the needs of food and beverage consumption. Finally, three armchairs and a television have been installed on the bottom left-hand corner of the room for entertainment.

The two diagrams contrast the student common room layout from five years ago to its current configuration.

Overall, the counter installed across the north side of the room had only one small change, but the main part of the room was nearly completely redesigned. The seating capacity was about the same.

The older layout had a counter along the north wall with various appliances and storage. This was where all the kitchen facilities were located: a sink, a microwave oven and a refrigerator. The only change is a second microwave taking up some of the available counterspace.

The main part of the room used to contain four circular tables, each having chairs seating six people. The total capacity was 24 students. Two of these tables were removed, leaving space for a large rectangular table seating four on each side. In addition, along the south wall, a bench for laptops was installed along with a large television in the corner. In front of the TV, there are three comfortable armchairs. The total seating capacity is 23, compared to 24 in the old layout. Next to the refrigerator, a drinks machine was put in.

Am I able to write "A new microwave has bargained the old bench away"? I don't know exactly the meaning of this phrasal verb.

And why a bench for laptops can't be moved?

dinhtoan"A new microwave has bargained the old bench away"?

No, that makes no sense.

dinhtoanAnd why a bench for laptops can't be moved?

It is not designed to be repositioned like a chair or table can be. People move chairs and tables frequently.

In the diagram, it seems like it would take two or three people to move it, and why would they do that?
