Hi,

A.While.
Why can't Mary say:

Tom: I may go to the market this afternoon.
Mary: If you are there, could you please buy some fruit for me?
It's not really wrong, but if you wanted to use "if" it would be more common to say, "If you go, could you please buy some fruit for me? of " or "If you do, ..."
