In Test 1 - Reading Passage 3 - Cambridge IELTS 9 it wrote: "They used a kind of triangular graph paper to plot three measurements against one other."

And the question 36 (no more than 2 words): The data was recorded on a ......(necessary for comparing the information)

The correct answer in a Cam9 was: "(triangular) graph"

But my answer was: "graph paper"

so is it right????? if it's wrong so why? can you explain for me pls????

No. We don't say "a graph paper" (at least, not in the sense needed here). We say "a sheet/piece of graph paper" (but obviously that would be more than two words).

We could say "recorded on graph paper", but the question includes the article "a", which can't be ignored.

I am confused, too. This is question 36:

They used a kind of triangular graph paper to plot the three measurements against one another.

Outcome: Land tortoises were represented by a dense 36 ___cluster_______ of points towards the top. Sea turtles were grouped together in the bottom part.

The data was recorded on a 35graph……….(necessary for comparing the information).

The graph was necessary so that the information could be visually analyzed. We put data in graph form.
Graph paper is the medium on which the graph is shown. The graph can be on your screen or printed on paper.

Best I got it !!
