Poetry is an escape of an emotion that spills out like a tipped over honey jar, slowly but thick. It's a expression a person gives about him/her self. I think it comes with being yourself by discribing the way you feel in ways you can't explain.

I DEFINE poetry as a writing were you exprese your feelings, expresions and thoughts.

The very essence of expression, written down in a way that it carries the emotions along with the words.- M

Poetry is words that come from the heart and feelings within, Poetry is truth, it is freedom.

A way to expess your mood, feelings, write a story or memory.

I like to defer to Author Tom Robbins on this one.
