Are both these sentences correct (and do they mean the same):

a) "What's your income?"

b) "How much is your income?"


They mean the same, but are generally regarded as rude and intrusive questions – often getting the response 'Mind your own business'.

But I just wanted to know how this is correctly expressed.

While at this, I've been asked that, and I have just written a message saying: "She asked how much my income was".
