I think OP needs to clarify the second part of the sentence well because what you used changes the meaning in my opinion, especially since you changed the tense that OP might mean it literally.

To me, there is a possibility that OP meant it literally:

She was not supposed to ask this from the manager, but I didn't know (that) she did.

In the past, the speaker didn't know that she asked this from the manager, but now the speaker knows that she did.

The version you used suggests that now, the speaker doesn't know whether/ if she did.


That's why I think OP needs to clarify their meaning.
