Hi English Teachers/Friends. Is this an appropriate letter when it comes to changing an interview date? Please amend if there is any mistake. Thanks You !!

Dear Mr.Christophe Le Padellec,

This letter is to thank you for the opportunity of your invitation to the interview.

While your offer of employment is most attractive, I feel that it would be to our mutual advantage to delay action with respect to this opportunity until next December 16th, Friday. This will provide me with sufficient time as I'll be in overseas till next week.

If this date is not convenient please let me know. Your offer is most attractive and I thank you for the confidence you have shown in me.

Sincerely,

Vincent Tee

Dear Mr.Christophe Le Padellec,

Thank you for your offer of an interview.

While the opportunity of employment is most attractive, I would like to know if a postponement of the interview is possible since I will be overseas until next week. May I suggest a new date of Friday, December 16th? If this date is not convenient, please let me know.

I am very pleased with your offer, and I thank you for the confidence you have shown in me.

Sincerely,

Vincent Tee

After the salutation, use a colon or nothing.

Leave out "This letter is to . . . " Obviously, your letter will explain itself. Start with "Thank you . . . "

". . . delay action with respect to this opportunity . . . ? Why all those words?

"Because I'll be overseas till next week, could we possibly meet sometime after Friday, December . . ." And let him know that you'll be glad to meet him any time that is convenience for him after the 15th. This seems a bit more direct and simple.

Then, "If this date isn't convenient . . . "

[This letter is to thank you for the opportunity of your invitation to the interview.]

If someone gives me the opportunity for an interview, I would write the following:

Thank you for inviting me for an interview.

Or I am writing to you to thank for inviting me to an interview.
