Hi guys,

Imagine you are a student in a university. And your classmate asked you:

-I did not see you last week?

You replied by saying:

-How come?! I came everyday last week!

Actually I have several questions regarding the above:

1- Is it correct to say "Imagine you are a student in a university" or "Imagine you were a student in a university"?
2- Is it correct to say "your classmate asked you" or "your classmate asks you"?
3- Is it correct English to say "I came everyday last week"?

Thanks

There is an argument to be made for were rather than are, but this would be very conversational, so I would go with are. It is more like this: Imagine this...you are a student...

I did not see you last week. This is not a question. It is a statement, so there should be no question mark and it isn't asked of you. How can someone ask you if he didn't see you? Your response of How come? I came everyday last week! is fine.
