Is there any word peerhood in English dictionary? As far as I'm concerned I wasn't able to find one. Yesterday, I heard someone using this word in certain TV programme.

Are you sure it wasn't the word "peerage"?

From a dictionary:...

"'Peerage' (noun) = the title and rank of peer or peeress, e.g. 'On his retirement as cabinet secretary, he was given a peerage.' • ( the peerage) peers as a class; those holding a hereditary or honorary title, e.g. 'He was elevated to the peerage two years ago.' • a book containing a list of peers and peeresses, with their genealogy and history."
Dear Annvan,

I'm sure it wasn't peerage.

Whoever you heard was getting a little confused and combining 'peerage' with 'knighthood'.
I've found "peerhood" on the internet - mentioned in 3 different contexts: a computer term, in the sense of title/nobility and in the sense of peer grouping (i.e. people of the same age, status, or ability). ... But I have to admit, I'm still not sure how exactly to define "peerhood"!

Hi,

There isnt a term "peerhood" in dictionary.
But, 'PeerHood' is a network management middleware that works as a personal area network for trusted personal devices and offers an interface to the middleware modules on top of it.

It is a new term coined during an ongoing research here at Lappeenranta University of Technology, Finland. In simple words Peerhood means a neighborhood of peer nodes.

Hope you got it. If you want to know more please refer to this article "Social networking on mobile environment on top of PeerHood".You can google it.
