DollI have to eat loaves of bread
(It sounds intriguing, Doll. What does it mean?

MrP)
It means I am in the beginning of English learning/teaching and I have to study a lot and it will take my years to be an expert.

--I'm an original poster, Magic dragon. After I read the explanations of you all, I'm confused.

Now, let me explain my own idea. I think "since Q" means a kind of "period", namely, from Q until now. But "from Q" means a mere starting point, so just "from Q" doesn't mean a period. From this it follows that A and D is OK, but I'm not sure about B (because "on" means Duration).

I want opinions of you all about my explanation.
Hi,

Q is a starting point. 'From Q' sounds like a period to me.

Consider that you can say 'from 2001 to 2003' to indicate a period. 'From 2001' suggests to me the period 'from 2001 to now', although I think native speakers would be happier saying 'from 2001 on'.

Best wishes, Clive

Thanks, Doll! I think the nearest English idiom (in terms of meaning) would be "I still have a long way to go"; which is quite dull by comparison.

Best wishes,

MrP

PS: Not so many loaves, I'm sure.
