Dear Teachers,

1. "hooker" is used for women, so what word is common and is used for men nowadays?

2. The female singer Charllen used to sing that "I've been to paradise, but I've never been to me.".

- Does "I've never been to me" have any figurative meanings?

Thanks a bunch to Teachers,

Stevenukd.

Hello Steve

1. "Rent boy" is commonly used for a male prostitute.

2. An idiomatic phrase is "I've never been to X", e.g. "I've never been to Australia", "I've never been to Chicago", etc. In the phrase "I've never been to me", perhaps the singer imagines herself as a place which she has never visited. (In other words, she doesn't know herself very well.)

Other members may have other suggestions, though!

Have a good weekend,

MrP
