Why not to stay in the dorms at Louisiana Tech

Are you a prospective student interested in living in the dorms at Louisiana Tech if so, I strongly urge you to make other arrangements.

When I first received my room assignment, I was excited mainly because I was placed in the Cottingham, the honors dorms. I figured that being assigned to this prestige hall was a good thing. I just knew that my room was going to be warm and inviting, but I sadly mistaken.

Cottingham is probably the worse residential hall on the campus of Louisiana Tech. It is the oldest dorm and probably is in the worst condition. The building was actually built in the 1900s during World War 2, which I find hilarious because the building was built when my great grandfather was a child.

There are many notable problems inside of my dorm room and all the others on this hall. My first day, when I walked inside my room, I noticed that the walls were dirty, and desperately needed to be repainted. Students from other universities first day consist of decorating their rooms, but my first day was spent painting walls. Then, while putting up my things, I noticed something very scary and dangerous, which was that there was mole everywhere in the closet. I said to myself, “If this is how the honors dorms look, I figured that the other halls are in probably in bad condition”.

The next thing that I noticed was that none of the electrical outlets worked. I had driven three hours from Baton Rouge, and my cell phone needed to be charged, but I could not because none of the outlets worked, which really made me upset.

Lastly, I noticed that the tables and dressers that are provided are old and looks like they were used four score and seven years ago. Actually, one of the tables had only three legs. I was so upset that I found myself yelling obscenities at a rapid rate.

In conclusion, I don’t think that Cottingham or any other hall on the campus of Louisiana Tech is a good place to stay. The halls are very old and are not in good condition and there are many immature adults that live there.

And a few comments about content:
-- World War II (not "2") was in the 1940's, not the 1900's.
-- Of course there are "immature adults" living there -- it's a college dorm! However, the only examples of immature behavior you mentioned were your own (yelling obscenities).
-- I'm surprised you were allowed to paint your dorm room.
-- You give no basis for generalizing from the condition of Cottingham to the condition of "any other hall on the campus." In fact, you already stated that Cottingham is the oldest and probably in the worst condition -- so maybe the others are fine.
