I would really appreciate it if someone could let me know what is the meaning of "where" in the following sentence. Though I'm not precisely sure, my instincts say that it's meaning is same as "though".


Please note that WebAssembly is an programming tool which enables web-browsers to run programmes written by different languages like java, C++, etc... In the past, we could write programmes to run on web-browsers only by using javascript. Despite a number of attempts to replace the traditional javascript, none of them was successful. That's what they have mentioned by "others" in the sentence.


WebAssembly has been successful where others have failed.
