Hello,

Could you please say, is the preposition "with" necessary/accebtable

in the following sentence?

"A person whom I'd like to meet with."

or a bit less common

"A person with whom I'd like to meet."

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

As a non-American, I'd say 'with' is fine in American English but is rather substandard elsewhere.

Perhaps an American will add a comment.

The first is much more common in spoken English; the second is very formal.
