Hi, I have written a Motivation Letter as per University Requirement, which is within 300 words. Please check whether it is fine or not:

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am applying for the Masters in Web and Data Science program for the year winter semester. The reason for applying for the program is its uniqueness in Europe and its curriculum about Data Science, Web Engineering, which are one of the building blocks of Data Management and Web Application development.

I had a Bachelor in Computer Science and Engineering and have been working as a Software Engineer for the past 6 years. My interest in Web Science developed when I had my first Facebook account opened. The underlying architecture of this social networking site is always intriguing to me. In addition to that, during the third semester my university, we had been introduced to a module named “Web Technology”. The lectures about the World Wide Web and its expanding influence were able to quench my thirst partially.

So, the desire to learn about Web Science paved my way to enrol myself for summer training in PHP-MYSQL. During the training, I learned many web programming languages for developing websites like HTML, CSS, AJAX, JQUERY, JAVASCRIPT, and also PHP. Even my passion for this fetched me an outstanding grade on my final year project which was Online Blog System generally made for my college.

Moreover, my industrial experience in C, Unix Shell scripting, Python Scripting, Oracle Database, and sound knowledge in different algorithms enable me to enrol myself for this program in your institution. Although I don’t have any industrial experience in web programming, my strong exposure in the software industry and the knowledge that I had during my academic days, with the competitive course structure of this program, will help me to stand out in the crowd.

Thanks in advance for considering my application.

Yours sincerely

A motivational letter asks you to describe your motives. You have a lot of detailed stff in your letter that makes it hard to see what your motives are.

Leave the details to your CV.

Try this. Focus on your main three motives and then write a short paragraph on each one. Start each paragraph with I want to enroll in this program because . . . Then show us your drafts, for comments.

If you can do this successfully it's not hard to combine them into a single letter.

HI Clive,

Could you please check my motivation letter now? Motivation Letter word limit is 300 words as suggested by the University.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I want to enrol myself for the Masters in Web and Data Science program for the winter semester. The reason for applying to the program is its uniqueness in Europe and its curriculum about Data Science, Web Engineering, which are one of the building blocks of Data Management and Web Application development.

Starting with my background, I had a Bachelor in Computer Science and Engineering from West Bengal University of Technology, India and I have been working as a Software Engineer for the past 6 years in Fortune 500 companies like Cognizant Technology Solutions and Tata Consultancy services. My interest in Web Science developed during the third semester in my university, when we had been introduced to a module named “Web Technology”.

So, the desire to learn more about Web Science, I enrolled myself for summer training in PHP-MYSQL. During the training, I learned many web programming languages for developing websites like PHP, HTML, CSS, and so on. Even my passion for this fetched me an outstanding grade on my final year project which was Online Blog System.

But when I entered into Software Industry I never got a chance to explore the reach of web technologies. My skill set is only restricted to Unix Shell Scripting, Python shell scripting, and Oracle Database programming. But I never lose my hope and that is why I want to be part of this program in Web and Data Science. My strong exposures to the software industry, as well as, my good programming skills enable me to join this program and in addition to that, the strong and competitive curriculum of this program will develop me as a mature software professional with a niche skill set.

Thanks in advance for considering my application.

Yours sincerely
